NEWS FLASH

On 24 September 2008, Leona Roberts, the museum manager at the Falkland Islands Museum & National Trust wrote:

"Your website dedicated to the Lady Elizabeth is fantastic, with a terrific amount of information - well done.

"Unfortunately the hulk took some damage over the winter and her bowsprit was broken in a storm. We are hoping to get the broken section removed soon as it doesn't look very good at all at the moment. All in all, the deterioration continues and I'm afraid we are simply not in a position to do anything about it.

"In case you're interested, I'm attaching a rather nice photograph that my husband took of the Lady Liz in a storm earlier in the year (not the one that broke her nose, however).

Best regards, Leona
